Less than a mile from the busy A1, heading west on the A694 towards Rowlands Gill, lies the forgotten estate of Axwell Park.
Axwell Park are the grounds and gardens which surround the magnificent Axwell Hall. This was once the residence of the Clavering family, who finally sold the estate in 1921 and since then its fortunes have been mixed. Since 1980 the Hall has been left to deteriorate and the parkland has become unkempt and overgrown, but is now emerging from its neglect to return to its former magnificence. What you see today is still a work in progress, and when the Hall is fully restored, and the gardens re-created, the full magic of Axwell Park will return.
Now thanks to the DARE Group this is coming back to life in a 3 phases of development, starting with the revival of the walled gardens ... it's all here.
